ITALIAN PREMIERE
Nervo Vago is inspired by Alice Munro’s short story Dimensions.
After a tragic loss, Flora tries to start over, but remains trapped in a daily life made of repetitive gestures: she walks, works, takes the bus, waits. Her body seems still, permeated by grief.
When she meets Anteo again, the man who killed her children, everything fractures. He promises her the possibility of seeing them again in another dimension, and this promise draws her in, turning their bond into a dangerous dependency.
Between dependence and the desire for salvation, the performance explores the relationship between trauma and the body, where even the smallest gesture can become decisive. Saying “no” becomes a possible breaking point, the beginning of change.
The title refers to the vagus nerve, which regulates the body’s responses to danger: fight, flight or freeze. Nervo Vago explores how trauma inhabits the body and how, even within fiction, a path of transformation can emerge.
IN SHORT
A woman marked by loss meets the man responsible for the tragedy that destroyed her life. He traps her between illusion and dependency. Through body, imagination and memory, the performance explores the moment when saying “no” becomes an act capable of changing everything.
