La Banca dei Sogni – Pergine explores dream activity and transforms real dreams into a performance, using imagination to reflect on the present.
Francesca Merli and Laura Serena have interviewed and worked with a group of adolescents from Pergine, exploring — through their dreams — the deep tensions shaping their generation: the future, identity, the need for justice, and political engagement.
What does it mean today to feel part of a community?
What forms of participation do young people still consider possible?
The result is a performance that dialogues between dreams and stage, desire and socio-political context. Dreams are not an escape, but tools to interpret and transform reality.
The show is presented as part of the Fuoristagione program at Teatro di Pergine, within the project Mi Specchio nel Domani, supported by Fondazione Caritro.

MERLI-SERENA is a duo formed by director Francesca Merli and actress Laura Serena. Their collaboration began in 2017, after meeting at a competition inspired by Pasolini’s Comizi d’amore, and since then they have been the creative core of the company Domesticalchimia.
Their projects emerge from personal research that becomes collective, using interviews and investigations to transform individual stories into evocative images on stage. Multimedia elements, often including video, are a fundamental part of their theatrical language.
MERLI-SERENA is also part of the artistic direction and organization of the GEA Contemporary Theatre Festival – Gioiosaetamorosa in Treviso.
