“Initiation is the exit from the cave of shadows to behold the light of the true Sun.”
(Oswald Wirth)

Bambini nel buio is a generational manifesto. Four young people leave a rave and climb a hill for a rite of initiation under the dawn of a total eclipse.

In the darkness, away from the light, inner fears and uncertainties emerge: boredom, anxiety, confusion, solitude, and the feeling of being out of place. The dancers’ bodies move through the void, blending physical choreography, sharp dialogues, and existential questions. They listen to each other, support each other, and ask for help, striving to stay awake.

What seems like endless darkness is not definitive. The bodies respond to confusion. The dance grows fierce, becoming a call to wake up, resist, and act even when everything around appears extinguished.

Guiding and amplifying this energy, Thybaud Monterisi (leader of Mont Baud) creates a live soundscape of electro-noise and irreverent songs reflecting the instability of the present, turning the performance into a live concert.

Balletto Civile dedicates this work to the new generations, reflecting on the uncertainty of the future with the awareness that the familiar world has ended.

The show is presented in collaboration with Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara, Trento.
