That was my goal, in the end there was no goal..”
A few years ago the case of two teenagers from Parioli who were prostitutes after school caused a stir. The customers were men from the “Roma-bene” and the media hype contributed to blaming the girls, rather than protecting them.
The show starts with the meeting between the youngest, called Laura, and the judge Paola Di Nicola, called to judge one of the clients. Di Nicola refused financial compensation, deeming it inadequate, and proposed instead a symbolic compensation: offer culture and knowledge to restore freedom and awareness.
Dedicated to the judge and her sentence that became an international case, the text gives a more just and human look at that event. A reflection on stereotypes, justice and female dignity.
IN A NUTSHELL
Cinzia Spanò brings to the stage the case of prostitution of the teenagers of Parioli and the innovative sentence of the judge Di Nicola, who refused a monetary compensation to restore dignity to the victim. A denunciation of the media stigma, a spotlight on the stereotypical narrative that blamed the young people.
