Emily Heather Manica and Linus Jansner win the Non Addomesticabili 2026 call

The project “Balance In”, born from the collaboration between Trentino dancer Emily Heather Manica and Swedish choreographer Linus Jansner, has been selected as the winner of the Non Addomesticabili 2026 call. The debut is scheduled at Pergine Festival 2026.

Balance In” is a choreographic and musical duo that combines contemporary dance and live classical guitar. The performance explores balance as a negotiation between body, music, and space: every gesture influences the sound and every note shapes the environment, creating a constant tension between discipline and spontaneity, harmony and rupture.

Emily Heather Manica is an Anglo-Italian interdisciplinary dancer and performer from Rovereto. Her professional training began in 2008 with Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni, with whom she maintains a strong ongoing collaboration. She combines contemporary dance, performing arts, and academic studies in art history. A trained classical guitarist, she has collaborated with theatres and festivals, participating in artistic residencies, performances, and site-specific dance projects. She currently lives and works in Venice, collaborating with institutions such as the Biennale di Venezia and the European Cultural Centre.

Linus Jansner is a Swedish choreographer and performer, artistic director of Chaotic Kitchen, trained in urban dance, contemporary dance and physical theatre, integrating acrobatics and narrative movement. He trained at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and has collaborated with international artists such as Anton Lachky, Michele Anne De Mey, and James Terre. Among his main works in the region is Strangers in the Night, co-created with Jos Baker and Carlo Massari.

Emily Heather Manica and Linus Jansner met in 2024 in Rovereto and began collaborating in 2025. The project “Balance In” was conceived in Venice aboard the Vaporetto dell’Immaginario and continues to develop with the support of Abbondanza/Bertoni.

Following their win of the Non Addomesticabili 2026 call, Balance In will begin a series of residencies in spring, leading to the presentation of a first short study at the Festival Bellandi and the world premiere at Pergine Festival 2026.

Non Addomesticabili is a project supporting emerging dance, promoted by the Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara, ariaTeatro Ets, and Pergine Festival.
