Paradise, from the Persian pairadaëza, from which also the Hebrew pardeš, through the Greek παράδεισος, with the original meaning of “enclosed garden”, “orchard”, “park”.

Pairadaëza is an itinerant performance that invites the audience to set off together, walking through the Arte/Natura trail until reaching the performance site.

The action takes place in a “at-risk” territory, with the aim of intercepting and rediscovering its mystery and intangible essence, made of stories, legends, and traces that have layered over time. For this reason, we have chosen to follow the Arte/Natura trail, marked by the Vaia storm and close to reopening.

The artist observes the place as a botanist would: narrating its history, plants, forms, and fragilities. At the same time, he searches for what is not visible: memories, legends, imaginary presences, and stories from those who take care of the space.

Blending reality and imagination, with both a scientific and a magical approach, the artist leads the audience through a participatory experience made of walking, listening, and imagination.

Spectators are invited to explore the place step by step and to think together about how to transform it. In this way, a small temporary community is formed, rediscovering the garden as a symbol of a freer, fairer, and more possible world.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The trail is 5 km long and cannot be accessed by car. It can be reached on foot via an unpaved road/trail, with an elevation gain of approximately 150 metres. Cars can be left in parking areas 5/6, located 150 metres from Villa Strobele.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking on a mountain trail.

The performance is presented in collaboration with Artesella and Centro Servizi Santa Chiara.
