A musical-theatrical journey at the edges of reality, a relentless whirlwind of musical gags.
Inspired by the homonymous book, Le dolenti note explores—with irony—the contradictions of the musician’s profession.
Thanks to their distinctive mimic, instrumental and vocal skills, the four performers playfully deconstruct the world of music through provocative “advice”: from why it is better to avoid becoming musicians, to how to discourage children from approaching music; from which instruments it is best not to play, to how to get rid of the most unbearable musicians.
Moving between composed and de-composed music, chamber music and “balcony music”, from The Beatles to Vasco Rossi, Banda Osiris draws an unflattering portrait of the musician: arrogant, sensitive, unlucky, hated and, only rarely, loved.
IN SHORT
Banda Osiris, a cornerstone of Italian music history, brings its unmistakable irreverent irony to the stage, comically dismantling myths and stereotypes of the musician’s craft. A “reverse instruction manual” that, through laughter, reveals itself as a love letter to music.
