In the intimate shelter of a small coloured room that looks like a painting, everyday life vibrates with details, outside the storm, little by little the geometric horizon of the world of objects fades, becomes the background, the surreal side arrives, the darkness is the gateway to magic and wonder. Strange beings appear, bestiary of the irrational, archetypes: is it the imagination that feeds on the unconscious or vice versa?
The twists and turns that punctuate this gentle circus show are marked by a delicate irony, an imaginative, enveloping narration, a synthesis of theater and circus. Fabiana Ruiz Diaz, an aerial acrobat, with Luz de Luna offers an exciting dreamlike journey in which music and flight merge to give the spectator a new look at unknown states of consciousness. On tiptoe, the protagonist tries to encourage a vision of the “creative circus”, of which this work is a clear example.

Circo El Grito was founded in Brussels in 2007 from the meeting between Fabiana Ruiz Diaz (Uruguay) and Giacomo Costantini, considered by the press to be the pioneers of contemporary circus in Italy. The company collects the clearest circus tradition, renewing it in the contemporary context, to present shows that move on the border between circus, music, dance, magic, theater and literature. In 2022 Circo El Grito announced the birth of the SIC/Stabile di Innovazione Circense, the first international multidisciplinary production center dedicated to contemporary circus and recognized by the MiC.
Fabiana Ruiz Diaz is a multidisciplinary artist, co-founder of El Grito and the SIC/Stabile di Innovazione Circense. In the province of Macerata she manages the artistic residence space “Agreste”, while at the Teatro Feronia in San Severino Marche (MC) she co-directs a successful contemporary circus festival. With El Grito she has spread her shows in Europe, declining contemporary circus in its three symbolic places: the street, the theatre and the big capital cities.
