Dialogue’s of the Gods was born from a meeting between Massimiliano Civica and I Sacchi di Sabbia. Written by Luciano of Samosata in the 2nd century AD, these Dialogues are presented as a collection of gossip about the vices and transgressions of the inhabitants of Olympus: the “family” clashes between Zeus and Hera, the constant complaints about Eros’ misdeeds, the gossip between Dionysus, Hermes and Apollo.

In this tasty version, the Gods have landed in a classroom of a gymnasium, becoming the object of merciless interrogations by a stern teacher who torments two of her students. Sitting at their school desks in shorts, the two mature students, questioned about the intrigues and misdeeds of the immortals, experience first-hand the injustices of school, a prelude to future injustices in life.

IN A NUTSHELL

Inspired by the texts of Lucian of Samosata, the show stages the misadventures of the Greek gods as if they were the protagonists of school interrogations. Two adult students, punished by a strict teacher, relive the little and large injustices of the Olympians and of life.
