A childish middle-aged woman who lives at home with her parents and dreams about Antibes, a teenager with different Facebook identities, an hairdresser with a fragile personality. These are the protagonists of a recent case of Italian crime: the murder of Gloria Rosboch, teacher for special support, killed in 2016 by her former student and his lover and accomplice.
An affair worthy of a Fassbinder melò’s story, in which two great mythical archetypes are presented: Echo and Narcissus. The story of the nymph condemned to unrequited love and the young man who is madly in love with his own image reflected in the water.
If it doesn’t get my floor dirty was conceived as a short circuit between news broadcasting and myth: it is the story of a recess in the limbo of adolescence, where identities are blurred, distorted, delayed.
Scarpinato, as in Fa’afafine (winner of the Premio Scenario Infanzia and already known to the audience in Trentino), reframes episodes of news broadcasting in a clear and linear dramaturgical construction, in which the reality of the flesh and transparency of the virtual world are put into dialogue, through video projections that integrate the work of the actors: a perfect tool which translates fantasies and dreams of the “halfway adults” into the protagonists of this story.
