What does Mysticism have to do with Theatre?

This is the question that resonates in this lecture/performance.

Tales and riddles have always been used by the great Masters to “smuggle in” profound teachings and open the heart to a higher understanding of reality. The tales of the Baal Shem Tov and the Rebbe of Chassidism, the stories of the Sufis and the poems of Jalal al-Din Rumi, the riddles of Zen and the parables of Jesus in the Apocryphal Gospels explain aspects and behavior of the world of theater and its protagonists.
