If Art Brut, as Outsider Art, finds its origins in the specific area of the observation of mental illness and its representative forms, as regards the Artists attending the Atelier of Anffas Trentino, one could use the more suitable term of Intimist Art which refers not much to a specific period of the history of the Art as to an expressive modality that aims to expose through the filter of the image, thoughts, sensations, desires, dreams and states of mind absolutely personal; in this sense it is certainly similar to Irregular Art. Art therefore becomes a language through which the essence of the individual, who makes use of it, takes shape. Images like words. They reveal stories and emotions, efforts and joys.
