Giovanna – The Maiden, the Girl, the Lark
Lella Costa
What can we say about Joan of Arc that hasn’t already been said, written, sung or filmed?
The show begins with this ironic and provoking question. Joan of Arc, or Jeanette as she liked to be called, has inspired many narrations through varying forms of art from the times she was alive. The show wants to paint, in words and music, a dynamic and curious portrait, albeit remaining faithful to rigorous scientific studies, of this girl who, although very young and illiterate, had a huge influence on history.
Why you should see it ➜ “Lella Costa is the undisputed maestro of Italian theatre. It’s an immense honour to have such an amazing talent here with us, her passion and her ironic intelligence conquer us every time.”
