Divine is a show where the voice and designs of Danio Manfredini embroider a scenario quite freely inspired by Notre Dame des Fleurs, Jean Genet’s debut novel. The four times winner of the UBU award draws out from the complexity of the novel, the story of Divine, born Louis Culafroy, a boy who runs away from home to lead his life as a transvestite. On the outskirts of the parisian society, sinister and criminal, he meets with the petty thief, Mignon and the murderer, Notre Dame des Fleurs, who both leave lasting marks on Divine’s life.
