Box Theatre: cara mamma, caro papà
Stalker Teatro
Cara mamma caro papà was created in the 1980s as part of “Box-Theatre“, an experimental project investigating the relationship between visual arts and theatre.
The performance creates a “text-sculpture” starting from wooden boxes full of visual and sound materials. The traditional figures of the popular fairy tale are evoked on stage: the king, the queen, the son, the beautiful girl, the monster. The characters shift from one performer to the other through the simple exchange of an object or a hat, just like in a card game.
With this work, Stalker Teatro delves into the origins of the narrative process on the basis of Vladimir Propp’s studies, identifying themes and stereotypes about diversity to create an intriguing scenic game with a surprise ending.
