The montage is amazing. It is a game of scales, from small to large and vice versa, of mirrors and continuous references between the stage and the screen. […] The dramaturgy offers brilliant parallelisms, original and full of acumen, which leave the viewer astonished, upset, surprised and absolutely conquered.

The Catalan collective Agrupación Señor Serrano, winner of the Silver Lion for theatrical innovation at the Venice Biennale, is one of those creative phenomena that are revolutionizing contemporary theater with their unmistakable style.
Their artistic language makes scale models coexist with live footage, video projections, direct recording and performance, exploring our society through a game of mirrors, images and metaphors.
Birdie is inspired by a photography of two compared worlds: on the one hand, wars, drought, deforestation, pollution, exploitation, persecution, poverty; on the other, well-being, prosperity, wealth, respect for human rights. And between the two worlds, flocks of birds, referring to our Hitchcockian imagination, transforming Hitchcock’s vision into reality.
Thousands of migratory birds which constantly draw impossible shapes in the sky as to suggest that everything moves, in a fast pace editing of images which poses a reflection on migrations and unsurmountable borders.
