PAG. Pergine Arte Giovane 2019
Online PAG 2019: a competition award , promoted by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Pergine, visual and performing arts disciplines, open to artists under 30 living in Trentino Alto-Adige.
The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pergine, in collaboration with Pergine Festival, announces the fourth edition of PAG. Pergine Arte Giovane 2019, a competitio award open to under 30 artists living in Trentino Alto-Adige. The aim of the competition is to support young artistic excellence, stimulating a reflection on new ways of enjoying urban places of cultural memory.
The competition includes the selection of up to 15 projects, which will be presented publicly, between 4 and 7 July 2019, within the 44th edition of Pergine Festival. Among these, a project, chosen at the discretion of the Commission pursuant to Art. 4 of the announcement, will be recognized as a winner and will receive a prize of € 500.
THEME
The theme of the competition is URBAN DIALOGUES, a reflection on the urban space consisting of places, stories, people, paths, testimonies and relationships, a living organism in constant transformation. The city is a kaleidoscope of archetypes and taboos, inner intentions and conflicts, fantasy and rationality, where desires, dreams and hopes coexist. The city is the liquid habitat of the collective spirit and meeting point, where dialogue is still possible.
CONDITIONS OF PARTECIPATION
– All individual / collective artists who have not reached their 30 year by 31 December 2019 are admitted to the competition (in the case of a group, at least 80% of the members must be at least 30 years old) and that they are resident in Trentino Alto-Adige.
– The competition includes the selection of a maximum of 15 artistic projects, which will be presented publicly in the historical center of Pergine Valsugana, in the period between 4 and 7 July 2019, during Pergine Festival.
– Projects of the following artistic disciplines can participate in the competition (full regulations can be found in the call for proposals):
* Visual arts (painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, installations, site-specific, street-art);
* Audiovisual projects (video-art, short films, visuals, sound installations, video, experimental music);
* Performing arts (dance, theater, circus, poetry, performance, visual poetry, live music).
– Each artist can apply with a maximum of 2 proposals, both works already realized (from 2017 onwards) and new projects, which respond to this year theme. Projects which incites violence, vulgar content, racist and / or explicit sexual or pedopornographic content will not be accepted.
– The implementation / presentation of the selected projects will be coordinated by Dora Bulart, artistic director and curator of this edition, through a series of meetings in the period between May and June.
– The selected projects will be candidates for the PAG – Pergine Arte Giovane 2019 award of € 500 (net of any withholding tax and social security). All selected projects will provide for public restitution.
– Pergine Festival will provide a logistic support (request for permits), a basic technique (lights, audio / video and basic cables) and, after verification and agreements, additional technical support. All other expenses (production of the work, possible SIAE charges, specific unspecified technical requests, travel, transport of works) will be borne by the artist. Each artist works under his own responsibility and must take the necessary measures to prevent dangerous situations that are harmful to his or her own safety and that of others. He is also responsible for damage to property caused by negligence and inexperience and the organization accepts no responsibility.
SUBMISSIONS
The submissions must be redacted through this FORM, compiled, signed and sent by 12:00 of Friday 17 May to the email address concorsopag2019@gmail.com.
Please attach to the email the following materials:
– the form with release, completely filled in and signed (download here all the forms);
– max 5 images of the project (max. 3 MB in total);
– artistic portfolio (max.3 MB in total) and/or links to previous work;
– curriculum vitae.
The deadline for submission is scheduled for 12:00 of 17 May 2019.
