    Audience development training

27 October 2017 | 9.30-17.00 | Sala Arazzi, Museo Diocesano Tridentino, Piazza Duomo (Trento)

PARTICIPATION IN THE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE: A DIALOGUE ON ACCESSIBILITY, INCLUSION AND ENGAGEMENT

What does it mean to create an accessible cultural programme? What do we mean for inclusion? How to build participation and engagement of different audiences?

More and more cultural organisations feel the need to consider cultural processes in a participatory way, starting from the observation that art, in its various meanings and practices, affects and involves many areas of growth: personal, collective, and social.

The quality of the experience of different types of audience and of different types of participation is at the heart of this meeting, with the aim of providing tools to move through practices related to accessibility, inclusion and greater and more extensive involvement of the various subjects crossing the various cultural fields.

Taking into account different needs, skills, expectations and interests, the meeting is articulated by combining training and analysis of some case studies with an in-depth analysis of theories and practices in the national and international contexts of accessibility for audiences with different abilities (physical, sensory and intellectual).

We will continue with the presentation of special projects by associations, festivals and cultural institutions, focusing on different approaches, contexts and experiences. The aim is to provide a practical and concise guide to addressing issues related to accessibility, inclusion and involvement of different types of audience and users (disabled, non-public, artists and operators).

The day will end with work tables where participants can reflect and discuss the issues raised during the day in relation to their context of action, their needs and expectations.

The seminar is aimed at operators and cultural managers (museums, galleries, festivals, theatres) and anyone who has an interest or is involved in creating an inclusive cultural process. The seminar also aims to network into reality territorial realities that share mutual interest.

Participation in the training is free of charge upon registration with info@perginefestival.it by October 25, 2017. Download here the training’s program (pdf).
