On Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December, Dante Antonelli’s masterclass on stage writing arrives at the Teatro di Zivignago. The initiative is part of Playground, the artistic training course promoted by Pergine Festival for the winter season.

Tomorrow, November 30 and Sunday, December 1 at the Theatre of Zhivignago, To Burn Or Not To Burn – For a future act of wonder is the first appointment with the masterclasses of the training programme that Pergine Festival proposes for the first time during the winter season.

To Burn Or Not To Burn – For a future act of wonder, is a space in which participants will face the work of investigation, scenic creation, writing and performance practice.

In the wake of the “Mishima Project” that guided his latest creation – entitled Act of Adoration and presented last July as a premiere at Pergine Festival – the masterclass will guide participants through two texts: The Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima and Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

A two-day “open construction site” that aims at being a place of exchange and encounter in which to sow seeds: the tension of the performance is, according to Antonelli, the same that the reader finds in the young samurai idealized in Mishima, a tension that unites the works of all artists, in a reinterpretation of the contemporary world rooted in the pursuit of classical beauty.
